Concept
A question, observation or proposed mechanism that has not yet been tested.
UNTESTEDSUSTAINABLE OASIS RESEARCH
Sustainable Oasis research turns ideas into experiments and experiments into usable evidence.
We do not need every idea to succeed. We need every serious test to teach us something measurable.
DATA DISCIPLINE
Sustainable Oasis separates concepts, calculations, observations and validated results so the evidence remains understandable.
A question, observation or proposed mechanism that has not yet been tested.
UNTESTEDA value produced by calculation, simulation or known assumptions before direct measurement.
ESTIMATEDA result recorded from an instrumented physical test with known units and conditions.
MEASUREDA result that can be repeated under documented conditions with consistent outcomes.
REPEATABLERESEARCH AREAS
Our research is organized around physical systems, measurable resource flows and practical infrastructure.
Test renewable generation, energy storage, recovery, conversion losses and system efficiency.
Explore Energy →Study collection, gravity flow, storage, filtration, reuse and water-energy interactions.
Explore Water →Compare growing methods using harvest, area, water, energy and seasonal performance.
Explore Food →Examine modular construction, thermal performance, water capture and productive use of structures.
Explore Shelter →Develop reliable sensing, logging and control methods for physical Oasis systems.
Explore Automation →Study how individual systems interact when combined into one productive infrastructure.
Complete Oasis →RESEARCH LIBRARY
Defined questions, hypotheses, setups, measurements and experimental observations.
View Experiments →Test systems outside controlled bench conditions and document how they perform in real use.
View Field Tests →Separate successful outcomes, failures and inconclusive results from the original hypothesis.
View Results →Define how experiments are measured, compared and documented.
View Methodology →EXPERIMENT MODEL
What exactly are we trying to understand?
What result do we expect and why?
What equipment, geometry and operating conditions are being tested?
What energy, water, material, time or other resources enter the test?
What measurable result comes out of the system?
What did the measurements actually show?
MASTER R&D PROJECT
SO-EMS is our energy measurement framework for tracking input, output, storage, recovery and experimental performance.
Its first purpose is not automation. Its first purpose is reliable energy accounting.
LIVING LABS
Sustainable Oasis Living Labs provide physical places where ideas can become instrumented prototypes.
Generation, storage, recovery, efficiency and SO-EMS measurement.
Explore Energy Lab →Collection, filtration, flow, storage, reuse and gravity systems.
Explore Water Lab →Growing methods, irrigation, production and resource efficiency.
Explore Food Lab →Sensors, controllers, data logging and safe operating logic.
Explore Automation Lab →FROM MODEL TO REALITY
CURRENT DATA
As measured datasets become available, the same architecture can compare modeled values with real observations.
Control Room values may currently be DEMO, ESTIMATED or MEASURED. The data classification must remain visible when research conclusions are drawn.
FAILURE IS DATA
A failed prototype can reveal an incorrect assumption, an excessive loss, a measurement problem, a material limitation or a better question.
Sustainable Oasis research should document useful failures instead of hiding them.
REPLICATION
Before a system becomes part of a Complete Oasis, we should understand whether the useful result can be reproduced under documented conditions.
Run the test again using the same procedure.
Test which conditions materially affect the result.
Move beyond the bench into realistic operating conditions.
Record enough detail that another test can reproduce the setup.
Add proven ideas to larger Oasis systems only when the evidence supports doing so.
RESEARCH → KNOWLEDGE
Capture observations, unexpected behaviour and practical lessons.
Field Notes →Convert completed projects into structured examples that others can examine.
Case Studies →Turn repeatable methods into practical instructions.
Guides →Convert proven systems into reusable infrastructure plans.
